CPR, First Aid, AED & BLS Certification

This is where HPI began in 2016, before any nursing program existed. It’s hands-on lifesaving training, built for healthcare students, working professionals, and anyone who wants to know what to do in the first few minutes of an emergency.

Program Overview

The Skills to Act in the First Few Minutes

Before HPI ran nursing programs, it ran CPR classes. The school opened in 2016 as a CPR, First Aid, AED, and Basic Life Support training center, and that founding purpose is still part of what it does today.

This course teaches what to do when someone stops breathing, when their heart stops, or when a common injury turns into a real emergency: how to perform chest compressions, use an AED, clear an airway, and stay calm enough to act until help arrives.

Training is hands-on. You will practice on manikins in HPI’s skills lab, not just watch a video and take a quiz. That practice is what makes the skills stick.

Healthcare Provider level BLS is also a requirement for anyone applying to HPI’s Practical Nursing program, so this course does double duty: it is both a standalone certification and a prerequisite for students on their way into nursing.
